Kasey West Named Big South Libero of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville volleyball player Kasey West was named the Big South's Libero of the Week for the matches played from Feb. 22-28 Tuesday by the league office. West is the first Bulldog to earn a weekly honor this season.
"I am absolutely thrilled for Kasey," said Head Coach Frederico Santos. "She absolutely deserves this honor. Two great performances in which she helped the team get two wins over the weekend."
In her first action of the spring, West came out rolling last weekend at Gardner-Webb. Over the two matches, West totaled 30 digs (5.00 D/S). The Mills River, N.C. native reached double-digits in digs in both matches, including a 16-dig outing in the first match Thursday. Â
West and the rest of the Bulldogs will be back in action on Thursday (6 p.m.) and Friday (4 p.m.) when they travel to Presbyterian for two more Big South matches. Both matches can be seen on ESPN+.Â
