Jack Choiniere Named to Big South All-Academic Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville track & field student-athlete Jack Choiniere was honored Friday by being named to the Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field All-Academic team.
Choiniere last competed during the 2019-20 indoor season. The Charlotte, N.C. native, set new personal-bests in the shot put (14.94m) and weight throw (13.48) as a sophomore. His 14.94m toss in the shotput was set at the 2020 Big South Indoor Championships, which placed him sixth in the field.
Academically, Choiniere is an accounting major at UNC Asheville with a minor in management. His current grade point average is 3.831.
The Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Team consists of one student-athlete from each institution that meets the criteria of having completed at least one academic year at the institution, maintains at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average and is of sophomore standing (academically and athletically). The team and Scholar-Athlete of the Year award are selected by the Big South Conference Sports Information Directors. This year's squad combined for a 3.73 GPA and is as follows:
