Bulldog Alum Pete McDaniel to speak on Athletics Zoom

Notable writer and alum to join Janet Cone February 26
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Notable UNC Asheville alum Pete McDaniel will join Director of Athletics Janet Cone for a Zoom call on Friday, February 26, at noon as part of the Bulldog Webinar Series sponsored by Mako Medical.
A native of Arden, North Carolina, McDaniel would attend UNC Asheville and compete for the golf team, graduating with a degree in literature in 1974. After graduating, McDaniel began his career in journalism, becoming a senior writer at Golf Digest and Golf World in 1993 until 2009. McDaniel might be known most for his coverage of golf superstar Tiger Woods, of whom he would cover closely during his time at Golf Digest. After co-authoring Earl Woods' (Tiger's late father) book Training a Tiger, McDaniel authored Tiger Woods' best-selling book How I Play Golf.
McDaniel has remained in contact with UNC Asheville over the years, visiting campus in 2011 to screen "Uneven Fairways," which was a documentary that McDaniel co-wrote and co-produced for the Golf Channel.
Most recently, McDaniel played a prominent role in the HBO Documentary, "Tiger" and ESPN's Documentary, "Tiger Woods: America's Son."
For his work within the black golf community, McDaniel is a member of the National Black Golf Hall of Fame and the African-American Golfers Hall of Fame. McDaniel, who resides in Conyers, Georgia, continues to be a freelance writer. To join the zoom on February 26, see the information below.
