Preliminary Guidelines and Recommendations for the Athletic Training Facility and Staff
Preliminary Guidelines and Recommendations for the Athletic Training Facility and Staff
Athletic Training Facility Specific Considerations
- Negative symptom and temperature checked prior to admittance
- Sports Medicine staff are required to complete a temperature and symptom check daily when entering the facility
- If Sports Medicine staff has a positive screening or feels ill prior to coming to campus, they will notify Mission Sports Medicine Administration and follow Mission guidelines for follow up care and treatment
- Each student athlete will be screened, and temperature checked prior to entering the facility
- A student athlete who has a positive screening will be immediately removed from the facility and we will follow the guidelines of NCAA, CDC, UNC Asheville and Student Health Services to the next steps.
- Strategies to maintain physical distance and/or physical barriers in facility
- By moving tables 6 feet apart and creating a socially distant environment
- Require at least six feet of physical distancing at all times (have floor signs to help with compliance if needed.
- Increased cleaning with approved products
- Implementation of an appointment-based system/no walk-ins
- Limit number of student athletes and staff in athletic training facility
- Determine occupancy of athletic department areas/rooms based on Stage population density recommendations and implement occupancy limitations.
- Athletic Training will adjust any Emergency Action Plan as needed for change in facilities use plan
- Will limit entrance to facility to one entry and exit point
- Temperature should be taken prior to entrance to the medical facility and symptom questions asked.
a. If the individual displays symptoms, has a temperature >100.4, or otherwise indicates high risk for possible infection (I.e. new close exposure), he/she will not be allowed to access the facility.
- The individual should contact Sports Medicine Staff by phone to evaluate the individual to determine the appropriate action (return home; seek immediate medical care, etc.) Following current NCAA, CDC and UNC Asheville guidelines.
- All students and staff should attest they feel totally well and are fit for athletic activities each time they enter the athletic training facilities.
- Frequent reminders to wash hands often for at least 20-30 seconds with soap and warm water before and upon entry to the facility. Use hand sanitizer only when soap and water is not available. Will have appropriate signage for education and reminders for compliance
- Wash hands/use hand sanitizer before putting on and after removing PPE and masks.
- Avoid touching mouth, nose, eyes, and nearby surfaces when putting on, using, and removing PPE and masks.
Masks/Mouth-Nose Covering:
- PPE use (Level 1 masks or cloth masks for all individuals, personnel-working in the athletic training facility will be required at all times when social distances cannot be maintained.
- Clean cloth face covering masks should be used each day by athletes and staff.
- Cloth face covering masks should be cleaned (washed) after each day.
- Wash hands/use hand sanitizer before putting on and after removing PPE and masks.
- Avoid touching mouth, nose, eyes, and nearby surfaces when putting on, using, and removing PPE and masks.
- All student athletes will be required to wear masks while in the athletic training facility at all times.
- Cloth face covering masks reduce exposures to others when the wearer coughs or sneezes (I.e., source control). Cloth face covering masks do not replace the need for social and physical distancing, frequent handwashing, avoiding touching the face, and staying away from people who are ill.
Preparticipation Evaluation
- We suggest (and per approval of Dr. Hales and Dr. Hiza) All student-athletes will be required to provide updated in person Physical exams. The student athletes, parent or guardian will be required to fill out the medical history questionnaire and consent to treat forms, as well as other medical forms via sportsware, for clearance for participation to gain clearance.
- A complete pre participation physical will be required for
- All Student-Athletes
- If the returning student athlete sustained an illness or injury during break from campus
- Should undergo additional screening/cardiac and pulmonary based on medical decision making of sports medicine team.
- Strong consideration should be given to formal cardiac screening (EKG, possible hstroponin, and Echo) and pulmonary testing (PFT).

Strategies for Resuming Activities After Positive Test Results – Asymptomatic Individuals
The CDC has published strategies for the resumption of normal activities for people who have tested positive for COVID-19 but who have not had any symptoms. Any decision to discontinue isolation of infected individuals should be made in the context of local circumstances.
Time-based strategy
Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 but have not developed any symptoms may discontinue isolation 10 days after the date of their first COVID-19 diagnostic test, assuming they have not subsequently developed symptoms. If symptoms do develop, this time-based strategy should not be used, and the symptom-based strategy should be used instead.
Time-based strategy
Individuals who test positive and are symptomatic should remain in isolation until at least 72 hours have passed since recovery, which is defined as resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and improvement in any respiratory symptoms and at least 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared.

Other Considerations Related to Resumption of Activities After Positive Tests
The CDC has identified other information that athletics departments should consider as part of their development of protocols related to the discontinuation of isolation for infected individuals after positive test results. For example, for certain populations, including those containing individuals with conditions that may weaken their immune system, a longer isolation timeframe for infected individuals may be desired to minimize the chance of prolonged shedding of the virus. Similarly, it should be noted that recommendations for discontinuing isolation in people known to be infected with COVID-19 may be different than CDC recommendations on when to discontinue quarantine for people known to have been exposed to COVID-19. For example, the CDC still recommends 14 days of quarantine after high-risk exposure based on the time it takes to develop illness if infected. Thus, it is possible that a person known to be infected, but who has been tested, could leave isolation earlier than a person who is quarantined, but who has not been tested, because the possibility of infection remains where testing has not occurred.See NCAA Resocialization of Collegiate Sports for additional details.

Enterprise Van Rental
Our New Complete Clean Pledge
Employee and customer safety are our top priority. Today and every day, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in the industry. We are reinforcing this commitment through the launch of our new Complete Clean Pledge program across our global operations. We want our customers to feel confident their vehicle is clean and sanitized each and every time they rent.
Following guidance from health authorities and in partnership with the travel industry, we are taking additional measures to build on our already rigorous cleaning protocols. Employees are being trained to implement the new and more comprehensive cleaning mandates for their protection, and for the safety and service of customers. These mandates include enhanced cleaning guidance for vehicles, shuttles and branch locations, as well as social distancing practices.
Customers will begin seeing Complete Clean Pledge signage and notifications within their rented vehicles confirming they have been thoroughly cleaned. This includes washing, vacuuming, general wipe down and sanitizing with a disinfectant that meets leading health authority requirements, with particular attention to more than 20 high-touch points. The cleaning guidance set forth in the Complete Clean Pledge aligns with the U.S Travel Association's (USTA) "Travel in the New Normal" guidance introduced last week. Enterprise Holdings is an active member of USTA and leading voice of the car rental industry in the organization.
Additionally, we recognize that social distancing and minimal contact will remain important safety measures for many customers, so we are in the process of refining our current modified offerings to move toward implementing more permanent low- and no-touch experiences for our customers. We are accelerating efforts to offer new rental experiences including introducing new options such as: advanced check-in at Enterprise's neighborhood locations, "show your pass and go," and enhanced curbside and delivery processes.

Innovative Rental Process Enhancements
In response to the COVID-19 health crisis, Enterprise modified its services and processes, including keeping our physical locations limited and interaction to a minimum, while still maximizing our availability for those that need our services. This will continue to be our focus as we thoughtfully prepare for the reopening of some of our locations in the weeks ahead.Additionally, we recognize that social distancing and minimal contact will remain important safety measures for many customers, so we are in the process of refining our current modified offerings to move toward implementing more permanent low- and no-touch experiences for our customers.
