A Program First Highlights Bulldogs First Day of CCSA Championships

KNOXVILLE, TENN. – For the first time in program history, UNC Asheville swimming and diving scored points in the 3m diving event on the first day of the CCSA Conference Championships.
Jessica Brock scored a 127.35 while Megan Almond scored a 95.35, securing the program first for the Bulldogs and etching their names in UNC Asheville history.
Senior Skylar Rogan highlighted a strong day of swimming for the Bulldogs as she swam a lifetime best time in the lead-off of the 800 free relay with a time of 1:51.60. Rogan, along with, Catherine Allen (1:52.69), Bela Stuart Vieira (1:51.19) and Adee Weller (1:52.84) earned huge points for the Bulldogs as they claimed a fourth place finish with an overall season best time of 7:28.32.
Madison Rogan led the Bulldogs in the Time Trial 100 butterfly as she swam a time of 56.42. Christina Marshall was right behind with a time of 58.78 while Ellis Nelson swam a time of 59.10. Lexi Federico finished the event with a time of 1:00.94 while Aleta Jewell swam a time of 1:01.04.
The Bulldogs will return to the pool at 10 a.m. Thursday morning looking to build upon a strong day one as the CCSA Conference Championships continue.
