10.16.2020 | Women's Swimming & Diving

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – In the first official athletic event since March, the UNC Asheville Swimming & Diving team will host conference rival Campbell Saturday morning. The action is scheduled to get underway at 11 a.m. from the Justice Center Pool.

Last Time Out – The last time the Bulldogs were in the pool was for the Bulldog Blue & White Showdown Presented by TD Bank earlier this month. In the matchup of Bulldogs, the Blue team pulled out the slight 120.5-115.5 victory over the White squad. In case you missed it, check out the replay on ESPN+.

How to Follow – Speaking of ESPN+, this Saturday's meet with Campbell will also be streamed on ESPN+. The meet will also be on the Meet Mobile app for fans to follow along.

About the Bulldogs – The Bulldogs, who went 5-4 in 2019-20, hope to ride the momentum they gained late last season into 2020-21. Asheville placed fourth at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships, which was the highest finish in program history. Furthermore, the team has won four straight dual meets, which also stands as the best in the eight-year history of the program.

Head Coach Elizabeth Lykins, who is coming off her second straight CCSA Co-Coach of the Year honor, will return 22 student-athletes from last season's team, while welcoming in 10 newcomers. Lykins guided the Bulldogs to set six program records and eight freshman records in 2019-20. Asheville also succeeded in the classroom as it earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the 15th consecutive semester.

About Campbell – The Fighting Camels are coming off an 8-8 season, including a 4-3 mark in CCSA action in 2019-20. Campbell, which placed sixth at the CCSA Championships, will return two swimmers in Erica Losey and Colleen Renshaw that competed at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship (NIC) last March.
