Bulldogs Complete Day One of Thundering Herd Invitational

Day 1 Results
HUNTINGTON, W. VA. – UNC Asheville track and field completed the first day of competition at the Marshall Thundering Herd Invitational with a first place finish in the men's DMR.
The quartet of Alex Haines, Sage Turner, Jacob Starace and Walker Lezotte claimed the first place spot in the DMR with a time of 10:47.12. The Bulldogs were more than 30 seconds quicker than the second place team.
The Bulldog women claimed a second place finish in the women's DMR. Madeline Nichols, Alyx Evans, Ava Nkadi and Khadeesha Crumbly finished with a time of 12:18.89 which was less than two seconds behind the leading team.
Freshman Kathryn Brown claimed a fourth place finish in the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.19 meters while Claudia Prieto earned a sixth place finish with a jump of 10.87 meters.
Jack Choiniere earned a top five finish in the men's weight throw with a throw of 13.33 meters. Dominique Partridge claimed a sixth place finish in the event with a throw of 12.90 meters.
After the first day of competition, the Bulldog men are currently sitting in fourth place while the Bulldog women are in fifth place. The bulk of the events will be held on Saturday beginning at noon so UNC Asheville will have a great opportunity to improve their already solid spot in the standings. Â Â Â Â
