ASHEVILLE – UNC Asheville's men's soccer team will play the second match of its two-game road swing when it travels to Evansville, Indiana, to take on the Purple Aces in a 5 p.m., Saturday, contest.
The Bulldogs (1-2-1) will look to rebound after a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat at Furman, Wednesday night, that saw the Paladins net the game-winner with just 11 seconds remaining in the match.
This will be the fourth-all time meeting between the Bulldogs and the Purple Aces, and the first since 2002. The programs played three times from 1999-2002 with Evansville holding a 2-1 advantage.
The Purple Aces (1-2-1) are coming off of a tie against Lipscomb, Tuesday night, in Nashville. This will serve as the first home match for Evansville since defeating Eastern Illinois, 3-1, in their season opener, August 30.

The rookie followed up that performance with 14 saves against Furman, Wednesday. On the season, Payne has recorded 41 saves – which ranks fifth nationally – and owns an .837 save percentage,
Offensive Attack
Junior Tyson Hichman has been the go-to man in the early part of the season, leading the way with three goals scored in four matches. He scored the game-winner at home against VMI and also forced the pressure that caused an own-goal for VMI.
Senior Dino Dziergas has moved to the back line this season, but has still maintained a presence in the offensive attack, scoring a goal on Senior Day against Georgia State. He also leads the team with two assists, recording a helper on Hichman's goal against Furman and his first of the year at Navy.
Junior Colin Daughtry has scored as well for the Bulldogs, and seniors Kyle Adams and Luiz Felipe Dantas have each come up with assists.

Evansville has scored seven goals this season, led by three from Jesse Stafford-Lacey, including the team's lone goal against Lipscomb, Tuesday. Four other Purple Aces – Filip Johansson, Ryan Harris, Matic Pavlic and Simon Paez Abedanck – have each netted a goal this season.
Frederik Reimer has started all four matches in goal for Evansville, allowing eight goals and recording 12 saves.
