UNC Asheville Collects Both the Men’s and Women’s Big South Outdoor Track & Field Team Sportsmanship Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Both the UNC Asheville men's and women's track & field teams earned the 2019 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Team Sportsmanship Awards.
The league office made the official announcement on Thursday, May 30, 2019.
At the conclusion of each Big South championship, student-athletes on each team rank the top three teams in the Conference for the Team Sportsmanship Award for that particular sport. The team with the most points in the voting receives the honor, and in track & field the men's and women's programs both felt that special honor should go to UNC Asheville men's and women's track & field.
The UNC Asheville women's track & field was also awarded as the 2019 Big South Indoor Track & Field Sportsmanship winner. The UNC Asheville women's cross country team was chosen as the recipient of the 2018 Big South Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Award.
The UNC Asheville men's track & field program has now received the Big South Outdoor Sportsmanship Award twice (2016 and 2019), while the UNC Asheville women have now claimed the Big South Outdoor Sportsmanship Award three times (2006, 2018 and 2019).
