LYNCHBURG, Va. - Seventh-year swimming & diving head coach Elizabeth Lykins was named the CCSA Co-Coach of the Year, which was announced at the conclusion of the four-day championship meet at Liberty.
UNC Asheville broke seven school records at the CCSA - three relays and four individual marks. Along with the school records, two individual freshman records were broken.
The Bulldogs earned two podiums in the four-day meet. The first podium was a second-place finish in the 800 freestyle relay. That podium was the first-ever top-3 finish for the Bulldogs in a relay event at the CCSA Championships. The second podium was senior Morgan Rulevich's third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke.Â
Another Bulldog Breakthrough was the diving team participating in its first-ever CCSA Championship meet. Between Kerigan Martin, Megan Almond and Veronica Judson, the three Bulldogs combined for 18 team points.
As a team, UNC Asheville set a record for the most points scored at the CCSA Championships, as it finished with 820 points. Also, the sixth-place finish is the highest finish for the Bulldogs at the CCSA Championships.
