Bulldogs Defeat Brenau Saturday; Increase Win Streak to Three

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville swim and dive won their third straight dual meet Saturday afternoon by downing Brenau, 160-85, at the Buncombe County Schools Aquatic Center.
UNC Asheville began the meet with a first place finish in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Nora Segurola Larrinaga, Meredith Bunting, Bela Stuart Vieira and Delaney Carlton finished with a leading time of 1:50.81. They were four seconds quicker than the next closest relay team.
Skylar Rogan took the top spot in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:37.90. Madi Baron finished the event with a time of 11:17.94 and Marlee Burgess swam a time of 12:22.80.
Senior Catherine Allen led the charge in the 200 freestyle by claiming the top spot with a time of 1:57.03. Jessie Frank was right on her heels with a second place finish with a time of 1:57.83.
The Bulldogs took the top three spots in the 100 backstroke with Nora Segurola Larrinaga leading the way with a time of 59.33. Christa Jones took the second place spot with a time of 1:02.27 and Christina Marshall rounded out with the third spot with a time of 1:02.55.
Madison Rogan claimed a first place finish with a time of 2:07.97 in the 200 butterfly. Rogan finished seven seconds ahead of her teammate, Anna Nabors, who took the second place spot with a time of 2:14.77.
Bela Stuart Vieira won the 50 freestyle by .24 seconds with a time of 24.70.
Adee Weller and Jessie Frank fought for the top spot in the 100 freestyle with Weller coming out on top by .16 seconds with a time of 54.21. Frank finished second with a time of 54.37.
Nora Segurola Larrinaga won the 200 backstroke by an incredible mark of 12 seconds. She finished the event with a time of 2:08.42.
Christina Marshall finished first in the 200 breaststroke with a time 2:33.58.
Madison Rogan won her second event of the day with a 5:20.28 in the 500 freestyle. Catherine Allen took the top spot in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.26 and Nora Segurola Larrinaga won the 200 IM by 11 seconds with a time of 2:14.24.
