ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville volleyball head coach Frederico Santos recently announced the addition of Lexy Cole to the 2019 volleyball roster.

"Lexy is a very talented middle blocker, who is athletic and quick, but also a great student," Santos said. "She will provide depth and competition to our middle blocker position. I am very excited about Lexy's addition to our program for the class of 2019."

A 6-foot middle, Cole joins the Bulldogs out of Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville, N.C. Considered one of the top prep players in the state, Cole was chosen as the Sandhills 4-A Conference Player of the Year in October of 2018. She was also named the Most Valuable Player at her high school.

Cole led all of Cumberland County during her senior season with 306 kills. She also had 155 digs and 83 blocks.

Cole joins a UNC Asheville volleyball program that won 10 of its last 11 matches to close out the 2018 season.

UNC Asheville's 10-match winning streak that was snapped in its Big South Tournament semifinal loss to High Point was its longest winning streak since 2005.

UNC Asheville's 16 wins this past season were the most for the Bulldogs since winning 17 in the 2013 season.
