Bova Listed Among the Best in the Big South

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville sophomore defender Dante Bova entered the 2018 regular season ranked among the best in the Big South by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
In fact, the publication rated him as one of the top-20 players in the entire conference as the season begins.
Last year, Bova was chosen to the Big South All-Freshman Team. He was also a Big South Honorable Mention All-Conference selection.
Bova closed out his freshman season with the Bulldogs logging 1,612 minutes. He started all 18 matches for UNC Asheville.
The freshman defender anchored two shutout wins for the Bulldogs last season. He also closed out the year by assisting on two Bulldog goals.
Bova had an assist in Asheville's league road win at Winthrop and in Asheville's narrow 2-1 double overtime loss to Campbell. Bova was named the Big South Freshman of the Week on Oct. 30, 2017.
The sophomore from Hartland, Wis. started and played 71 minutes for the Bulldogs in their 2018 season opener at Wright State on Friday, Aug. 24.
UNC Asheville men's soccer continues its opening week of the regular season by next traveling to face Wofford at Snyder Field.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 27.
