Mennell Announces Addition of Forward Ameen Onasanya

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville men's soccer head coach Mathes Mennell recently announced the addition of forward Ameen Onasanya to the 2018 roster.
The 5-foot-8, 158-pound Charlotte, N.C. native joins the Bulldogs out of South Mecklenburg High School.
"We're really excited to add Ameen to our roster," Mennell said. "He comes from a good club setup at the Carolina Rapids. Ameen is a pacy kid who is going to give us the ability to stretch defenses. We're excited to add a player like him from a good club to our roster. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do for us in the fall. He is going to be a welcome addition to our attacking corps."
The Carolina Rapids Development Academy product was also a US Club Soccer regional champion.
At South Mecklenburg, Onasanya was an all-conference selection. He received the team golden boat award.
Onasanya is the 10th from the state of North Carolina to join the Bulldogs in the 2018 signing class.
