Norman Tabbed Women’s Outdoor Coach Of The Year

HIGH POINT, N.C. – UNC Asheville track and field head coach Jesse Norman was tabbed Big South Women's Coach of the Year for the Bulldogs' performance during the 2018 outdoor season.
At the Big South Championships, the women's track and field team finished sixth with 50 team points. The women's team made a 17-point improvement from last year's Big South Outdoor Championships in Charleston, S.C.
At the 2018 Big South Outdoor Championships, the UNC Asheville women's track and field team broke two school record (4 x 100m and women's 100m hurdles) along with three second-best marks (long jump, 400m and 4 x 400m relay).
Consisting of Asia Washington, Jasmine Cox, Desire Brown and Jailah Grimes, the four Bulldogs broke the school record in the 4 x 100m relay. Kayli Nichols also shattered a program record, which was the women's 100mH.
Nadiria Evans (long jump), Brown (400m) and Brown, Nichols, Cox and Heather Grober (4 x 400m relay) all earned the second-best mark in program history in their respective event.
