Collichio Opens Competition at Florida Relays for UNC Asheville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Senior distance runner Dominic Collichio kicked off the Florida Relays for the UNC Asheville men's and women's track teams, as he raced in the men's 5000m on Thursday night at the Percy Beard Track.

Highlights
Collichio was the only Bulldog that raced on the opening day of the Florida Relays. The senior from Carrboro, N.C. posted a 14:58.89, which was good enough for 24th place out of 38 highly-competitive runners.
That time was the fastest for Collichio in almost two years, as he posted a career-best 14:45.23 at the Tiger Classic two years ago.
What's Next?
The first college events on Friday are the women's discus and women's hammer, which begins at noon. The first track event will be the women's 100m hurdles, and the final events of the day are the men's and women's 3000m steeplechase, which begins at 9:50 p.m.
