UNC Asheville Volleyball Closes Regular Season at Radford on Saturday

RADFORD, Va. – Winners of eight straight, UNC Asheville volleyball will close out its 2018 regular season by hitting the road to face Radford.
UNC Asheville (14-11, 9-6 Big South) and Radford (19-4, 11-3 Big South) are scheduled to get things underway at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10.
The match will be streamed live on ESPN+.
BULLDOG BITES
In the Big South Statistics
Cara Guthrie is currently second in the league in kills per set (3.64). Guthrie is third in the league in points per set (4.13) and she is fifth in the league in aces per set (0.34). Madisen Zyburt is third in the league in digs per set (4.92). Julia Loveday is currently 10th in the league in hitting percentage (.248). She is ninth in blocks per set (0.87). UNC Asheville's Cecilia Stack is currently eighth in the league in blocks per set (0.90).
Winning Ways
UNC Asheville's current eight-match winning streak is its longest winning streak since 2005. It is also the longest of the Frederico Santos era as head coach of the Bulldogs.

UNC Asheville closed out its 2018 regular season home slate with an impressive 9-3 record at home. UNC Asheville has now won at least seven home matches in a single season for the last four seasons. In fact, the Bulldogs are 35-11 over the last four seasons at home.
Moving On Up
UNC Asheville's win over USC Upstate earlier this week allowed the Bulldogs to solidify a spot in the Big South Tournament and take over sole possession of fourth place in the league standings. Nearing 1,000 Digs
Cara Guthrie already has surpassed 1,000 kills in her career earlier this season, but she is nearing joining the ultra-exclusive club of those with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. After the win over USC Upstate, Guthrie now has 999 digs in her career. Guthrie, who currently has 1,227 kills, would become just the 12th in UNC Asheville volleyball history to have over 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
Guthrie in the Big South Record Books
Cara Guthrie with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs would become just the 46th in Big South Conference history to have 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career. Guthrie also currently has 132 aces in her career, meaning that with 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs she would become just the 35th in league history with over 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs and 100 aces.
