BULLDOG BITES

Finding the Back of the Net
UNC Asheville's Taylor Durall has scored in two out of the last three matches for the Bulldogs. He now leads the team in both goals (three) and points (seven). Izaiah Vignali is right behind Durall with five points on two goals and one assist. Lane Carroll has two goals on the season for the Bulldogs. In total, seven Bulldogs have scored this season with Luiz Felipe Dantas, Colin Daughtry, Brendan O'Dowd and Nate Evans each scoring once for UNC Asheville (1-9-2, 0-4-0 Big South) this season.

Quotable
"This is a big game for us," UNC Asheville men's soccer head coach Mathes Mennell said. "We have to win. Obviously they need to win as well. They started off conference on a great note and had a little bit of a heartbreaker at Radford, so they are going to be extremely motivated. This is a must-win game for us. If we want to play in the Big South Tournament, we have to win. There is part of me that could be frustrated that we put ourselves in that spot, but that's the spot we are in. This is a very good Presbyterian team. They are the defending Big South champions and they have certainly shown the return to that form of late by starting off conference play 2-1, so we have to play well.

"It's going to be challenging for sure, but it's going to be a fun and playoff-type atmosphere. We are looking forward to getting our guys out there. The guys know it, Presbyterian knows it, everybody else in Big South soccer knows that UNC Asheville has to win on Wednesday to give themselves a chance to play in the Big South Tournament."

Last Meeting
UNC Asheville closed out the regular season last year with a 2-2 tie against the eventual Big South champion Blue Hose. The Bulldogs (2-15-1, 1-6-1 Big South Conference) scored first in the contest in the 19th-minute when Joe LaCasto laced a shot into the lower left corner. Brandon Millington rifled a shot in the lower right corner of the net for UNC Asheville's second goal of the match.

About the Blue Hose
Presbyterian College welcomes the Bulldogs owning a 2-9 (2-1 Big South) record on the 2018 season overall. The Blue Hose have picked up both of their wins in league play. They started off conference play with back-to-back wins over Campbell and Winthrop before falling 1-0 in double overtime at Radford this past weekend.
