Rulevich Garners CCSA Female Swimmer of the Week After Winning Seven Events Last Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After winning all seven events last week at Georgia Southern and North Florida, UNC Asheville swimmer Morgan Rulevich was awarded the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Female Swimmer of the Week honor on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018.

The weekly honor is the second of her career. Rulevich won her first weekly honor last year on Oct. 31.

On Friday at Georgia Southern Rulevich competed in three events – 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. The senior from Lake Wylie, S.C. won all three events and even made improvements to her times in both freestyle events. With her 23.70 mark in the 50 free she now ranks second in the CCSA, and with her 51.69 time she is now ranked third in the league.

Rulevich continued her success on Saturday at North Florida, as she won four events. Two of the events were individual races (50 free and 200 breast), while two events were relays (200 medley relay and 400 free relay). The senior claimed top honors in all four events.

As the leadoff in the 400 free relay, Rulevich posted a 51.74 time versus the Ospreys, and in the freestyle leg of the 200 medley relay, she earned a 23.50 mark.

What's Next?

Rulevich and the entire UNC Asheville squad returns to the pool for a tri-meet in Davidson, N.C. The Bulldogs will face Davidson and VMI at the Cannon Natatorium on Saturday, Oct. 27. The tri-meet begins at 1 p.m.
