Norman Reveals 2018-19 Track & Field Schedule

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville track and field head coach Jesse Norman revealed the entire 2018-19 schedule on Wednesday, Oct. 24, which consists of six indoor and eight outdoor meets.

To open the indoor slate UNC Asheville travels to Mountain Rival Appalachian State to compete in the two-day App State Open. The meet will be held at the Holmes Center in Boone, N.C. and begins on Nov. 30.

Following winter break the Bulldogs return to the Keydet Invitational on Jan. 18, which is hosted by VMI. At last year's meet in Lexington, Ky. UNC Asheville broke several school records.

UNC Asheville will make the quick turnaround by traveling back to Virginia on Jan. 25-26. Asheville will compete in the Liberty Kickoff, which is hosted by former Big South Conference member Liberty.

To start the month of February the Bulldogs travel to Columbia, S.C. to compete in the Carolina Challenge. The trip to USC will be the first of two meets in Columbia for the track & field teams during the 2018-19 season.

For the third time in a month, Asheville will again travel back to the state of Virginia, but this time it will be to compete in the Big South Championships in Lynchburg, Va. The postseason meet will start on Feb. 15 and will be held inside the Liberty Indoor Track & Field Complex.

The NCAA National Indoor Championships will begin on March 8 and will be held in Birmingham, Ala.

To open its outdoor schedule UNC Asheville travels to Myrtle Beach, S.C. on March 14 to compete in the three-day Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. The meet is hosted by the City of Myrtle Beach and Coastal Carolina University.

To end the month of March UNC Asheville travels to Southern Conference member Wofford for the Terrier Relays.

On April 13, the Bulldogs travel to Columbia for the second time of the year and the first time in the outdoor season to compete in the Gamecock Invitational.

The Bulldogs will return to a Power Five school on April 19, as they travel to the Duke Invitational. The two-day meet will be held in Durham, N.C.

UNC Asheville will conclude its regular season with another trip to Myrtle Beach to participate in the Coastal Carolina Challenge. The road trip is only a one-day meet
(April 27).

To open the postseason Asheville travels to conference rival Winthrop for the Big South Conference Championships. The three-day meet will be held in Rock Hill, S.C. at the Belk Track Complex.

The NCAA East Prelims will be held in Jacksonville, Fla. on May 25-25, and the NCAA National Championships will be in Austin, Texas.
