ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The UNC Asheville volleyball team was featured today on the #espnWtop10.

The Bulldogs were featured for a tremendous play during their match against No. 15 Florida State in the Home2 Suites by Hilton Tallahassee Seminole Invitational when sophomore right side Ansley Rooks made an acrobatic kick save to keep the rally alive for the eventual Asheville point.

The specialty play that earned her a top-10 spot is definitely not all that Rooks did though in the tournament as she was also named to the Home2 Suites by Hilton Tallahassee Seminole Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Rooks concluded the tournament hosted by Florida State with a total of 16 kills and 15 digs. She averaged 1.78 kills and 1.67 digs per set in UNC Asheville's three matches in the tournament.

The UNC Asheville volleyball team is coming off an emphatic 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-16) win over Montreat on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at the Justice Center.

UNC Asheville obviously dominated from start-to-finish in the match with the Bulldogs hitting an impressive .356 as a team in the match. The Bulldogs hit .423 as a team in the third and final set.

The Bulldogs will next renew their Mountain Rivalry with Western Carolina at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, in Cullowhee, N.C. Last season at the Justice Center on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, UNC Asheville picked up an emphatic 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) win over the Catamounts. Since making the move to NCAA Division I, UNC Asheville owns a 23-16 advantage over the Catamounts.
