LYNCHBURG, Va. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team looks to get back to its winning ways in conference play this Saturday at Liberty.

First serve in the Big South Conference matchup between UNC Asheville (6-8, 2-1 Big South Conference) and Liberty (4-11, 1-1 Big South Conference) at the Vines Center is set for 2 p.m.

Elite Nationally
The Bulldogs are currently 20th in the entire country in services aces per set at 1.71. The mark is narrowly second-best in the Big South Conference behind Radford's 1.76 aces per game.

In the Big South Statistics in League Matches
UNC Asheville's Sheridan Salisbury currently leads the Big South Conference through the first three matches of league play with 0.69 service aces per set. UNC Asheville's KK Haley places fifth in the category at 0.46 and Cara Guthrie is 10th at 0.38 per game. Guthrie in the first three matches in league play is third in the conference in kills per set at 3.85. She is second in the league in points per set at 4.46. UNC Asheville's Ansley Rooks is eighth in the conference in league matches in hitting percentage at .358. Carter Kennedy is ninth in league play with 5.15 assists per set. Cecilia Stack is tied for seventh in the league in blocks in conference play at 1.00 per set.

In the Big South Statistics Overall
In UNC Asheville's 14 matches so far overall, Cara Guthrie is third in the conference in kills (3.59) and points (4.07) per set. UNC Asheville's Ava Venema is fourth in the league in hitting percentage (.329), while Sheridan Salisbury is sixth in the league in service aces per set (0.38). Guthrie is also in the top-10 in the category at 0.33.

Record-Breaking Match
The UNC Asheville volleyball team put together a record-setting performance in a 3-1 (22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 25-18) win over Campbell before a tremendous Homecoming crowd at the Justice Center on Friday, Sept. 22.

The Bulldogs hit a school-record .393 as a team in the 25-point rally scoring era (2008-pres.) in a four-set victory in the win over Campbell. The new mark bests the previous record of .341 hit by the Bulldogs in their 3-1 win over The Citadel at the UNC Asheville Invitational on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015.

About Liberty
Liberty welcomes the Bulldogs owning a 4-11 record overall on the year and a 1-1 mark in league play. The Flames have two with over 100 kills in Casey Goodwin (121) and Anna Gragg (117). Amaya Williams paces the Flame attack with 267 assists on the year, while Victoria Baptista is leading Liberty with 154 digs.
