Quotable
"I'm excited about the men's win today. It's nice to start Homecoming with a team win with a good-sized meet. This will set us up for a good training block to get ready for the ECU meet. On the women's side, I felt that we just put ourselves too far back to make up the ground needed. I thought we had some good individual results, and now we just need to finish it off as a team." – Head Coach Jesse Norman

In addition to the host Bulldogs, the 2017 Asheville Cross Country Invitational featured 11 teams in total with Auburn Montgomery, Carson-Newman, Gardner-Webb, Lenoir-Rhyne, Milligan, Montreat, Presbyterian, Warren Wilson, Western Carolina and Wofford all participating.

League Award Winners
The UNC Asheville men's and women's cross country teams were both honored with Big South Sportsmanship Awards for the 2016-17 season.

Cone and everybody has talked about in recruiting the right individuals. We are getting more of those student-athletes and they are doing some good things for us."
