Bulldogs Host Campbell for Homecoming Match at 7 p.m. on Friday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – After opening Big South play with a win over Gardner-Webb, UNC Asheville volleyball next welcomes Campbell to the Justice Center for its annual Homecoming match.

First serve for the match scheduled to be broadcast on the Big South Network is set for 7 p.m.

About the Bulldogs
The UNC Asheville volleyball team opened its 2017 Big South Conference schedule with a solid 3-1 (25-22, 25-17, 21-25, 25-19) victory over Gardner-Webb before a great crowd at the Justice Center. The Bulldogs with the win improved to 5-7 on the season and 1-0 in league play.

In the Big South
UNC Asheville continues to be featured heavily in the Big South statistics with Cara Guthrie third in the conference in kills per set at 3.60. She is also 10th in the conference in digs per set at 3.00. She is third in the league in points per set at 4.01. UNC Asheville's KK Haley (sixth, 0.69) and Sheridan Salisbury (eighth, 0.36) are both in the top-10 in the league in service aces per set.

The Camels
Campbell will be opening the conference portion of its season against the Bulldogs. The Camels are 10-4 overall on the season. Allena Heath leads Campbell in kills on the year with 203, while Summer Schuitema leads the Camels in assists with 434. Kayla Schanback has the most digs on the team with 204.

Battle of the Bulldogs Win No. 1 of 2017-18 Goes to Asheville
The Big South opener for UNC Asheville was also the first "Battle of the Bulldogs" meeting of the year in the battle for supremacy among the Big South's Bulldogs in Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville. With the 3-1 win over the Runnin' Bulldogs, Asheville takes an early 1-0 advantage in the series.
