UNC Asheville Releases 2017 Cross Country Schedule

2017 UNC Asheville Cross Country Schedule
ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville cross country head coach Jesse Norman unveiled the 2017 cross country schedule on Friday, July 21.
"We are really excited to release this year's schedule," Norman said. "We are looking forward to seeing some new courses over the course of this season that should be faster than what we've seen over the last few years."
The Bulldogs will open the 2017 season by traveling to Boone, N.C. on Friday, Sept. 1, to compete in the Covered Bridge Open. The meet hosted by Appalachian State gets underway at 5 p.m.
UNC Asheville will then have a chance to get an advance look at the championship course for the Big South Cross Country Championships by competing in the Liberty Big South Preview on Saturday, Sept. 16. The meet in Lynchburg, Va. is slated to start at 9 a.m.
The Bulldogs will host their lone meet of the year to close out their efforts in the month of September in the Asheville Cross Country Invitational. The meet to be held at 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Asheville Christian Academy will be part of UNC Asheville's annual Homecoming celebration.
UNC Asheville will commence its efforts in the month of October by traveling to Greenville, N.C. to take part in the ECU Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13. The meet held at the Overton's Lake Kristi course will begin at 5:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs will get their second chance to shine in Lynchburg, Va. on Saturday, Oct. 28, when they compete in the 2017 Big South Conference Championships that are scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m.
UNC Asheville will take part in the NCAA Division I Southeast Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 10. The meet is scheduled to get underway at 12 p.m.
