Medalie Joins Team at UNC Asheville as Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations and Finance

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone has announced the hiring of Annette Medalie as the Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations and Finance.
Medalie joins the UNC Asheville athletics department from Northeastern University in Boston where she has spent the past few years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance.
"I want to thank Janet Cone and the selection committee for this amazing opportunity," Medalie said. "I am excited for the future of UNC Asheville athletics and to become a member of the Bulldog family."
Through her role as Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations and Finance, Medalie will serve as the primary leader and manager of the daily operations and administration of all the business/financial activities and travel operations of the UNC Asheville athletics department.
Medalie will also be a member of Cone's Senior Team in the UNC Asheville athletics department.
"I am extremely excited to have Annette join the Bulldog family and particularly my senior team here in the athletics department," Cone said. "In her vital position, Annette's past experiences at other institutions and knowledge of financial planning will help the department immensely as we continue to develop our strategic plan."
A native of Waverly, N.Y., Medalie brings a wealth of experience to her new role as she was also the Business Manager at the College of Charleston before taking over her role in the Northeastern athletics department.
Before her time at the College of Charleston, Medalie earned her Master's Degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic. She also brings valuable knowledge from starting her career as an auditor with Deloitte and Touche in Stamford, Conn., for two years before joining Exsif Worldwide as an accountant in Purchase, N.Y., from 2007-2008.
Medalie finished her undergraduate studies in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in CPA Accounting and Finance from the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University in Syracuse, N.Y.
