CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Sisters Sydney Vandenberg and Alex Vandenberg have been featured in the most recent Big South Conference MUSCO Spotlight, a video feature produced by the conference office that focuses on women's student-athletes and their personal stories during the 2016-17 year.

Sydney Vandenberg is a sophomore on the UNC Asheville women's swimming team. Her sister, Alex Vandenberg, is a freshman on the women's cross country and track and field squads.

In the video released by the Big South Conference office, the Vandenbergs talk about what it is like having each other at the same school, supporting each other in different sports as well as how their mother's battle with cancer has brought them closer and helped them appreciate the time they have together.

The men's and women's track and field teams will compete this Friday, April 28, in the Western Carolina Invitational.

The Bulldog swimming team wrapped up the fifth year of the program's existence at the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Swimming and Diving Championships in late February with a seventh-place finish.
