UNC Asheville Basketball Celebration Fun for All

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – UNC Asheville celebrated both of its championship basketball teams at the Zaxby's in Weaverville, N.C. on Tuesday, March 28.Â
Both the Big South Conference regular-season champion UNC Asheville men's basketball team and the Big South Tournament champion UNC Asheville women's basketball team were in attendance on the evening.Â
In addition, UNC Asheville mascot Rocky along with Zaxby's mascot, LZ, were in attendance.
Both UNC Asheville men's basketball head coach Nick McDevitt and UNC Asheville women's basketball head coach Brenda Mock Kirkpatrick were thrilled to be a part of this great celebration.
"We were super-excited to be in the Weaverville community on Tuesday night at Zaxby's to celebrate the men's and women's basketball championships," Kirkpatrick said. "Weaverville is near and dear to my heart because I'm a resident of the community and we truly appreciate the support of Weaverville and the fans."
McDevitt knows the event was a great way for his student-athletes and the Bulldog fans to celebrate something very special.Â
"It was a great event," McDevitt said. "We were very excited to have the opportunity to celebrate a championship for both the men's and women's basketball programs this year."
