UNC Asheville Athletics Once Again Shines in the Classroom in the Fall of 2017

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – It was another incredibly impressive semester in the classroom for UNC Asheville athletics in the fall of 2017.

In fact, over 66 percent (139) of UNC Asheville's 211 student-athletes during the fall of 2017 finished with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to earn Honor Roll honors.

In total, the 211 Bulldog student-athletes combined for 3.165 grade-point average.

Even more impressive was the fact that 60 Bulldogs finished with a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher to garner Dean's list accolades, while 15 were named to the Chancellor's List with perfect 4.0 grade-point averages.

Among the men's sports at UNC Asheville, track and field had the best semester in the classroom in the fall with a 3.239 team grade-point average. In addition to winning their second tournament in program history this past fall, UNC Asheville women's golf took top honors among the women's teams with a 3.499 team grade-point average.

"Our student-athletes once again have shown that they are committed to being great in everything that they do at UNC Asheville," UNC Asheville Director of Athletics Janet R. Cone said. "It was a special fall of 2017 for our athletics department and I look forward to our student-athletes embracing 'The Pursuit of Champions and Leaders' in the spring of 2018."
