Bulldogs Conclude Competition at ETSU Invitational

THE MEET
ETSU Track and Field Invitational
Location: Johnson City, Tenn.
Dates:Â Jan. 13-14
JOHNSON CITY, TENN.—The UNC Asheville men's and women's track and field teams concluded competition at the ETSU Track and Field Invitational Saturday afternoon.
The morning began with the women's 3000-meters where freshman Abby Reimer finished with a time of 11:55.62. Junior David Hager finished 11th in the men's 3000-meters finals with a time of 9:09.98.
The following event was the women's one-mile run finals in which sophomore Kelley Petroski recorded a time of 6:28.32. Senior Jacob Fink finished with in 15th overall in the men's one-mile finals with a time of 4:48.25.
Junior Lauren Etheridge finished 15th overall with a time of 2:30.90 in the women's 800-meters finals. Senior Chase Stevens followed with a 17th overall finish in the men's 800-meters, running a 1:59.30.
Asheville's A Squad placed third in the men's 4000-meter DMR with a time of 10:34.78. The Bulldog B squad also placed seventh, with a time of 11:02.96.
Junior Kayli Nichols placed fourth in the women's 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.89, breaking the previous school record.

BULLDOG BITES
FIELD EVENTS: Two Bulldogs competed in the men's long jump finals with junior Hunter Koike placing 13th with a distance of 6.48 meters. Sophomore Chris McKoy also competed in the event jumping for a distance of 6.02 meters.

KOIKE CRUSHES RECORDS: Koike broke two Bulldog records on the first day of the invitational. He is now third all-time in the men's 60-meters (7.05) and second all-time in the 200-meters (22.17) after his performances Friday. Koike broke his own 200-meter record on Saturday with a time of 22:09.

"A little disappointed with our overall performances this weekend. Kayli, Argia and Hunter had some good performances but overall as a team we have some work to do over the next couple of weekends.
