When: Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 / 11 a.m.

BULLDOG BITES
LAST TIME OUT: The UNC Asheville women's swimming team put together some extremely solid performances in a 154-51 Coastal Collegiate Sports Association loss to 34th-ranked Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at the FGCU Aquatics Center. Morgan Rulevich put together the most complete performance of the day for the Bulldogs with the sophomore winning the 100 freestyle with a time of 52.55. She also claimed third in the 100 breastroke with a time of 1:06.83.

SKY(LAR) HIGH: Skylar Rogan continued her strong performances of late against Florida Gulf Coast. At Asheville's last meet in the Wingate Fall Frenzy, Rogan became the first Bulldog to ever break 5:00 in the 500 freestyle. En route to setting her lifetime best and earning the fourth place point at the Wingate Fall Frenzy, Rogan dropped almost :03 from her morning swim on Friday, Nov. 18, to set the new school and freshman record in 4:58.75. In the meet with Florida Gulf Coast, Rogan earned second place in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:39.04.

KEEPING IT GOING: Catherine Allen set the new school record in the 100 (57.59) and 200 butterfly (2:05.39) at the Wingate Fall Frenzy. She continued her solid efforts against Florida Gulf Coast by finishing second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.19. Allen also picked up a third place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:59.89.

STRONG SECOND PLACE FINISHES: Sophomore Jessica Woolfe picked up second place points in the meet against Florida Gulf Coast for the Bulldogs in the 50 freestyle with a time of 25.74. Junior Emily Werth garnered a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.70.

A PLACE SHE KNOWS WELL: Named the 2015-16 CCSA Co-Coach of the Year, UNC Asheville swimming head coach Elizabeth Lykins has been at the helm of Bulldog swimming since its inception in 2012. Prior to taking the reins at Asheville, Lykins was an assistant coach at Florida Gulf Coast University. During her tenure with the Eagles, the team achieved four-straight CCSA conference championships as well as a runner-up finish in 2006.

UP NEXT: Following Saturday's home finale, UNC Asheville will have just one more meet before competing in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) Championships in Athens, Ga. Before the conference meet, the Bulldogs will travel to Wilmington, N.C., where they will compete against UNC Wilmington and Gardner-Webb on Saturday, Jan. 21. The tri-meet will begin at 11 a.m.

QUOTABLES
On the meet with Liberty
"This will be our first opportunity to race against outside competition in almost a month. We have been wrapping up the last few days of winter training over the last few days and I feel it has gone well. Everyone has come back ready and done a great job in the pool during our training sessions. From here, it's really just fine-tuning. We only have two more meets, including this one, before championships, so fine-tuning and race strategies are some big things we'll be looking for from everyone tomorrow."

On celebrating three seniors
"Senior Day is always special for everyone involved, and this one is no different. But it seems to mean a little more with us being such a young program. Our first year was 2012 and these three ladies have been here since 2013, so they are actually my first recruiting class and our second class of four-year graduates. I'm very proud of Reid Jackson, Erin Riggs and Emily Sawyer for what they have accomplished and for what they have contributed to this program." – Elizabeth Lykins
