ASHEVILLE, N.C.—The UNC Asheville track and field teams will return to action when they travel just up the road to Johnson City, Tenn. to compete in the ETSU Track and Field Invitational, beginning this Friday, Jan. 13. BULLDOG BITES
RECORD-BREAKING RECAP:  Several school records were broken when the Bulldogs competed at the JDL Kickoff in early December of 2016. On the women's side it was junior Kayli Nichols in the 60-meter hurdles who broke her own school indoor record by posting a time of 8.95. In fact, Nichols posted the new school-record in both the preliminaries and then again in the finals. Her new mark bested her original record time of 9.00. On the men's side it was freshman Matthew Harding who set the new school mark in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:54.33. The time allowed him to place first overall and beat an individual who recorded a time of 1:48 last year as well.

UP NEXT:  Following this weekend's competition, the Bulldog men and women will travel to Lynchburg, Va. to compete in the Liberty Kickoff Jan. 20-21.

QUOTABLES
"I am excited for the meet this upcoming weekend. Looking forward to seeing where everyone is and the work they did over winter break. This is always a good meet to gauge who did their homework and we will begin to set up our travel roster for the remaining indoor season." - Head Coach Jesse Norman
