ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team looks to return to their winning ways at home in a match-up with their mountain rivals Western Carolina on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.

The Bulldogs will also welcome players from Asheville adult volleyball leagues. Teams will receive a group price of four dollars per person.

NOTABLES

Head-to-Head: -Asheville is 12-11 all-time against Western Carolina, with their last win coming in Cullowhee during the 2013 season (3-0 Bulldog victory). The last time these two teams met was at WCU in 2015 where the Catamounts swept the match 3-0.

Ins and Outs: The last six matches for Asheville have been split with three wins and three losses. The Bulldogs traded their three-match win-streak at home for a three-match skid in Florida this past weekend.

Top Dog: Sophomore Cara Guthrie leads the Bulldogs in three statistical categories: service aces (17), kills (108) and total attempts (329).

Scouting Western: The Catamounts are also looking to turn around a three-match losing streak, dropping contests to fellow Big South member Winthrop University, William & Mary and UNC Charlotte. Western's freshman libero Meagan Sanchez earned Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors last week.
