Bulldogs Host UNCG in Season Opener Sunday

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Bulldogs men's soccer has its home opener, facing the UNC Greenboro Spartans at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11 at Greenwood Field.
NOTABLES:
Last Time Out: UNC Asheville unleashed 17 shots but landed only four on goal, and none in the back of the net, as the Bulldogs lost to Davidson, 2-0 on Friday night.
Scouting UNCG: The Spartans began the season with a road trip to Florida, defeating Jacksonville 2-0, and playing North Florida to a 2-2 tie. UNCG also tied UAB 2-2 on Sept. 3 and comes into Sunday's match after a week off.
Time for Home Cookin': The Bulldogs have never beaten UNCG, managing only one tie in 14 matches. Asheville also is trying to break a five-match losing streak in 2016. But, the Bulldogs were tough at home last year, winning four of their six matches at Greenwood Field, and they will have their home fans behind them for the first time on Sunday.
