Bathing Suits & Bulldog Bites: Bulldog Seniors
08.18.2016 | Women's Swimming & Diving
Reid Jackson, Raleigh, NC, Class of 2017
Approaching my last year as a swimmer, soon to be a "swammer", has me reflecting on all that swimming has imbued upon me. Being a part of Asheville Athletics has helped me hone my leadership skills, clarify my goals, empower women and realize the importance of a good nap. When I entered UNC Asheville as a freshman I could not have foreseen that I would graduate having been a team captain and student-athlete president with a double major on the path towards physical therapy school. It is with much gratitude that I attribute my accomplishments to the encouragement of my teammates and coaches.
Erin Riggs, Kings Mountain, NC, Class of 2017
My past three years at UNC Asheville have been a wonderful journey filled with many memories. The swim team has become a second family for me and I know I have made lifelong friends with all of them. I look forward to one last season with the Bulldogs and graduating with my environmental and economics degrees in the spring.
Emily Sawyer, Greenville, NC, Class of 2017
Looking back on the past three years as a swimmer at UNC Asheville, I honestly couldn't ask for a better support system. After swimming my whole life, it's going to be really hard to have this chapter in my life come to an end in only sevens months, but I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this team! I'm nostalgic to say goodbye but excited to see where the "real world" takes me!
