Santos Adds Two to Complete 2016 Roster

Asheville, N.C.- Head volleyball coach Frederico Santos announced the addition of two incoming student-athletes to round out the 2016 roster. Incoming freshman, Tearra Tatum and sophomore transfer, Madisen Zyburt will add depth to a young Bulldog team.
“We are thrilled to add Tearra Tatum and Madisen Zyburt. Terra will add depth and athleticism to our outside position, she is an explosive outside who possesses great all around skills.
Madisen will add experience to the Libero position, coming to Asheville with a year of high level collegiate competition under her belt. She has strong leadership skills as well as great defense and ball control that will make an impact right away,” said Santos.
Hometown: Deluth, Ga.
Overview: Tearra was a four-year letter winner at Peachtree Ridge High School, and she received the team's most valuable player award both her junior and senior years. As a senior, she also received the Scholar Athlete Award. She was elected to Gwinnet's All-Area team for three years in a row, receiving All-County First Team honors in 2014 and 2015.
Hometown: Plainfield, Il.
Overview: Played in 19 matches and 60 total sets at Carson Newman, she tallied nine matches with at least 10 digs including in seven of her final eight contests of the year. Zyburt recorded career-highs in digs in back-to-back matches on Halloween at Coker and on Nov. 3 versus Tusculum. She had 19 digs in the Southeast Region title game against Lenoir-Rhyne on Dec. 6, and finished with 11 digs in the National Quarterfinals against Wayne State (Nebraska).
Tatum, Zyburt and the Bulldogs will kick off the 2016 season in Athens, Georgia at the University of Georgia Benson Hospitality Tournament. Their first match will be against the University of Georgia on Friday, August 26 at 7:00 p.m.
