Heisner's Second Place Finish Highlights Day One for Asheville in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG– Junior Sarah Heisner placed second overall in the women's 10,000m run with a time of 37:44.14 to give the Bulldogs their highest finish on day one.
After the first day of competition, the men are in seventh place with six points, while the women are in sixth place with 11 points. Liberty leads in both the men's and women's competition with 27 points (men) and 48 points (women).
NOTABLES
-Dominic Collichio also cracked the top five for Asheville in the men's 10,000m. He placed fourth overall with a time of 31:35.84 to earn five points for the Bulldogs. Also scoring in the men's 10,000m was freshman Zach Boone, finishing eighth with a time of 33:05.02.
-Erin Dalton also scored points for the Bulldogs in the women's 10,000m run. The senior placed seventh with a time of 38:42.86.
-Junior Argia Gibson placed eighth in the women's long jump with a best mark of 5.58m.
-In the women's 1500m, Kelsie Rubino and Casey Greenwalt both advanced to the finals to be run on Thursday, May 10. Both athletes in the first heat, Rubino advanced with a time of 4:47.07 and Greenwalt at 4:51.10.
-In the women's 400m hurdles, sophomore Kayli Nichols advanced to Thursday's final with a seed time of 1:03.02.
-Senior Anna Gelbach turned in a personal best time of 25.98 in the women's 200m.
-The first event for the Bulldogs on Wednesday will be the women's 100m hurdles trials set to begin at 2:00p.m.
