Bulldogs Travel to Auburn for Tiger Track Classic

AUBURN – The UNC Asheville Track and Field teams continue their 2016 Outdoor season with the two-day Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn University this Friday and Saturday.
This weekend's meet will feature twenty-two teams as well as a limited number of unattached athletes.
NOTABLES
-Day one for the Bulldogs will feature the men's and women's triple jump as well as the men's and women's 5,000 meter run.
-The majority of the events will take place on Saturday, April 9 with Asheville's first event being the women's 1,500 meter run beginning at 11:50 a.m.
-In all running events throughout the weekend, the schedule will run Women, followed by Men.
-This will be the Bulldogs third meet of the outdoor season as they prepare for the Big South Conference Championships on May 10-12.
LAST TIME OUT
-Asheville's last competition was the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Georgia Tech on March 25-26. The Bulldogs turned in personal bests and added new times to the program's list of all-time best marks.
-Senior, Kelsie Rubino took the fourth spot on the Asheville all-time list in the 1,500 meter run. Rubino's time of 4:37.00 placed her fifth overall.
-In the women's 5,000 meter run, Erin Dalton cracked the top 10 in ninth place with a time of 18:31.83.
-On the men's side, Chase Steven just missed a new personal best in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:55.51. Stevens had a top finish for the Bulldogs in 11th place.

Following this weekend's meet, Asheville will take a short trip up the mountain to Western Carolina University for the Beynon Sports Classic on April 15-16.
