Track Wraps Up Action at 49er Classic

Day Two Results
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNC Asheville closed the 49er Classic on Saturday, finishing with solid individual performances and relay runs in the Queen City.
NOTABLES
-The best finishes of the day came in the men's 3000 meter run, with three Bulldogs finishing in the top 11. Nathan Kirse led the way, finishing sixth overall with his time of 9:1643, followed by Ryan Catrine's seventh place finish (9:23.29) and Jacob Fink (11th, 9:33.29).
-Asheville had two top 15 finishers in the women's 800 meter run, led by Kelsie Rubino's 11th place finished (2:16.73), followed closely by Alyssa Lashway's time of 2:17.80 (13th place).
-Kayli Nichols finished with a wind-aided personal-best time of 14.41 seconds in the 100 meter hurdle finals, finishing sixth overall.
-The men's 800 meter run saw five Bulldogs at the 2:00 mark, with Chase Stevens' 16th place finish (1:55.94) leading the Asheville group. Andy Thornburg (25th, 1:58.04), Dominic Collichio (29th, 1:58.66), Blanton Gillespie (34th, 1:58.91) and Patrick Osborne (45th, 2:00.08) were all steps behind.
-Both the women's and men's 4 x 400 meter relay teams turned in solid finishes, with the women finishing 12th with a time of 4:07.46 and the men's side tallying a 3:28.89 time to finish 14th. The men's 4 x 800 meter relay team grabbed a second place finish with its 8:20.54 time.
-Nateja Hale's distance of 10.72 meters gave her a 18th place finish in the triple jump.

Following this weekend's meet, the Bulldogs continue their outdoor schedule next weekend when they travel to Atlanta to compete in the Yellow Jacket Invitational.
