Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational
Location: Johnson City, Tn.
JOHNSON CITY – The UNC Asheville Men's and Women's track and field teams concluded their fourth meet of the indoor track and field season with day two of the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational.
NOTABLES
-The Bulldogs turned in fast finishes in the women's 3,000 Meter Run. Erin Dalton finished third overall (10:27.81), and Sarah Heisner finished right behind her teammate in fourth (10:31.05).
-In the men's Mile, junior Dominic Collichio finished sixth overall in a field of 83 runners, posting a time of 4:22.46.
-In the Men's 800 Meter Run, Chase Stevens finished sixth out of 108 runners with a time of 1:56.28. Freshman, Chilton Birdwhistell achieved a new personal best of 2:00.59.
-Asheville made program history in both the men's and women's 4x400 meter relay. The women's team of Kayli Nichols, Argia Gibson, Alyssa Lashway and Anna Gelbach posted a time of 3:59.83 and earned themselves the number two spot on Asheville's all-time list. The men's team of Hunter Koike, Chase Stevens, Patrick Osborne and David Hager landed the number three spot on the Bulldog's all-time list.

On the Meet: “This was a good meet for us, we've started cleaning up some of our technical events and getting ready for the end of the indoor season. The big thing for us now is resting up, and tapering for Marshall next weekend, and conference right after that. We had a good amount of personal bests, all-time marks, and school records. That gives us some momentum to carry into Marshall.”

Following this weekend's meet, the Bulldogs will return to Marshall University next weekend February 12-13 for the Chipotle Marshall Invitational.
