Cullowhee, N.C.—The UNC Asheville men's and women's cross country teams finished this year's season at Western University in a duel meet Friday afternoon. The women ran a two mile race, and placed second overall with a combined time 59:10.00 and a team average of 11:50.00 and 39 total points.
The men's team finished second overall in the 5k with a combined time of 1:19.32, an average time of 15:54.53 and 33 total points.
NOTABLES:
- Blanton Gillespie placed second overall, running 15:25.27, and Zach Boone came in fourth with a time of 15:48.74.
- Four of the men placed in the top eight.
- Sarah Heiner placed second overall in the women's race with a time of 11:35.03.
- Amy Castle placed sixth, who was the second finisher for Asheville, running a 11:46.44.
