ASHEVILLE, N.C. The UNC Asheville men's and women's cross country teams competed for a Big South Cross Country Championship on their home course of Asheville Christian Academy on Friday morning. The women placed fifth overall with a combined time 1:38:57.22 and a team average of 19:47.55 and 110 total points.
The men's team finished sixth overall with a combined time of 2:16:09.89, an average time of 27:13.98 and 145 total points. Dominic Collichio earned All-Conference honors with a seventh place finish and a time of 25:43.40.
NOTABLES
-The top finisher for UNC Asheville on the women's side was sophomore Kelley Coleman in 17th with a time of 19:30.93. Sarah Heisner was close behind her, finishing 29th with a time of 19:43.33.
-The top finisher on the men's side was Colichio in seventh with teammate Zach Bonne finishing behind him in 21st with a time of 26:55.42.
-Campbell took the men's team Championship title with a total time of 2:07:31.42 and an average time of 25:30.39 and 31 points.
-Liberty took the women's Championship title with a total time of 1:29:34.32 and an average time of 18:53.87 and 38 total points.
