RADFORD, Va. – The UNC Asheville women's volleyball team goes on the road to Virginia to face the top-ranked Highlanders of Radford University on Friday night.

After Friday's match, the Bulldogs will continue their Virginia road trip at Liberty University on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.

NOTABLES

Last Time Out: The Bulldogs' last match was a 3-2 victory over Gardner-Webb University on Tuesday night in the Justice Center. This is the second time this season that Asheville defeated GWU in five sets with the first victory in Boiling Springs on October fourth.

Big South Standings: Asheville sits in sixth place in the Big South Conference standings through eleven matches this season. They remain one match back from Campbell University in fifth place. Radford reigns number one in the Big South, dropping only one match in conference play to the Charleston Southern Buccaneers in Charleston.

On Radford: The Highlanders nearly perfect conference record comes behind a league-leading offense. Radford leads the BSC in hitting percentage, averaging .228 as a team per set, kills averaging 13.61 per set and service aces averaging 1.52 per set.

Tournament Talk: The 2016 Big South Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament will be hosted by Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. this year on November 18-20. Should the Bulldogs maintain their current position, they will compete for the tournament title as the No. 6 seed.

 

UP NEXT

-Following this weekend's road trip, the Bulldogs will host Campbell University on November 5th at 2:00 p.m. for senior day, where the Bulldogs will honor the program's two seniors, Shelby Erickson and Madison Vaughn.
