ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's volleyball team welcomes the Eagles of Winthrop University to the Justice Center on Friday night for a Big South Conference match-up beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The Bulldogs are looking to rebound after a four-set loss to Charleston Southern University at home on Tuesday afternoon. Asheville picked up its' first league win over Gardner-Webb University just a week prior to Tuesday's match.
NOTABLES
In the Doghouse: Asheville is 5-3 at home in the Justice center in 2016. They have home wins over Montreat, Alabama A&M, North Carolina Central, Stetson and Western Carolina University.
On Winthrop: The Eagles are currently ninth in the Big South with an overall record of 9-12 and a league record of 0-5. Winthrop will be looking for their first conference win in Asheville before heading down to Boiling Springs, N.C. on Saturday to take on Gardner-Webb.
Head-to-Head: The last time these two teams met was in the 2015 Big South Conference Tournament Quarterfinals held in High Point, N.C. The Eagles handed the Bulldogs a 1-3 loss to advance to the Semifinals.
