ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville Bulldogs take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in men's soccer at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11 Fetzer Field in Chapel Hill, N.C.

NOTABLES:

Last Time Out: The Bulldogs dropped their first Big South Conference game, falling to Campbell 2-1. Asheville fell behind early, allowing two Camel goals in the first half.  The Bulldogs battled in the second half with Zack Compton scoring a goal in the 52' but could not find a way to put another one in the net.

Scouting North Carolina: The No. 4 ranked North Carolina Tar Heels will look to continue their winning ways.  North Carolina has been dominant at Fetzer Field the season boasting a 6-2 home field record.  However, the Tar Heels dropped their first ACC match this past Friday when Virginia defeated them 2-1 at home.  Despite outshooting Virginia 22-5 and taking a first half lead, the Cavaliers responded with two second half goals to earn the three points.

Responding From Defeat: The Bulldogs were undefeated in the Big South Conference until Friday's loss at Campbell.  However Asheville played a great second half, cutting into the deficit.  Asheville will need to build off this momentum and carry it over into Tuesday's match.

QUOTABLES:

"We're excited to play North Carolina, one of the best programs in the country both historically and this year.  This will be a great opportunity for us to go and compete against the best.  They are a very talented team so we will have to be really sharp in all of the phases of our game.  We are looking forward to the challenge of playing a high ranked ACC team at home.  It will be a great opportunity for us to find out exactly where we are against one of the best teams in the country." - Head Coach Mathes Mennell

UP NEXT:
