ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville women's volleyball team welcomes the Buccaneers of Charleston Southern University to the Justice Center on Tuesday, October 11 at 4:00 p.m. for their sixth Big South Conference match of the season.

 

Tuesday will be the make-up date for the match regularly scheduled for Saturday, October 8 between the Bulldogs and the Bucs. The match was moved due to the potential impacts of Hurricane Matthew on CSU's campus.

 

NOTABLES

Last Time Out: Asheville is coming off of their first conference win (3-2) over the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb last week in Boiling Springs, N.C. The Bulldogs are returning to the court after a full week without competition.

 

Sharp Servers: The Bulldogs currently lead the Big South Conference in service aces per set (1.85). Big South Conference leader, Radford University is second, averaging 1.65 aces per set.

 

Scouting CSU: Through four matches this season, the Bucs are second in the Big South standings. They carry an overall record of 8-11, and a clean Big South slate of 3-0 with league wins over Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb and Campbell.

 

Common Ground: The Bulldogs and the Bucs share league matches against Campbell and Gardner-Webb University. Both teams picked up wins over Gardner-Webb, CSU (3-1) and Asheville (3-2). The Bucs picked up a narrow win over Campbell (3-2), winning the fifth set 15-13, while the Bulldogs dropped a match to the Camels in Buies Creek (0-3).
