ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville volleyball team begins its' 2015 home schedule with a Friday afternoon matchup against local foe Montreat College. The Bulldogs enter the afternoon 1-4 overall after one match in their opening weekend tournament and dropping their matchup on Tuesday at Western Carolina. Montreat comes into Friday on a six-match losing streak.
NOTABLES
-This is first time UNC Asheville has opened a season with a 1-3 mark through the first four matches since the 2000 season.
-Since 1994, Asheville is 4-0 all-time against Montreat, with the last meeting coming in October of 2006.
-The Bulldogs have never lost a set to Montreat, winning all four matchups in straight sets (1999, 2002, 2003, 2006).
-Asheville is looking to grab a 2-3 record through the first five matches for the first time since 2011. The Bulldogs have opened seasons 3-2 twice in the last five seasons (2010, 2013).

-Following this afternoon's match, the Bulldogs host the UNC Asheville Invitational September 10-12, playing four matches as part of the full tournament schedule. Asheville will play Thursday and Friday nights and will have matches at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. next Saturday.
