ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville men's soccer team travels to take on VMI Saturday afternoon in Asheville's final tune up before Big South Conference play begins next week at Greenwood Field.
NOTABLES
-UNC Asheville goalkeeper Zak Davis is ranked fourth nationally in saves per game (6.18/per) and is No. 3 in the country in total saves (34). The national leader in total saves and saves per game is VMI's Alex Guerra
-Zach Joens leads Asheville in scoring, tallying three of the Bulldogs five total goals to date in 2015. Joens has notched his three goals on five total shots, four of which have been on goal.
-Asheville trails the all-time series 7-10 in a matchup dating back to 1988. VMI has won five straight in the series.
-The last Bulldog victory over VMI came in 2009 when the Bulldogs claimed a 2-1 victory on the road at Patchin Field.
