ASHEVILLE, N.C. - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced that the UNC Asheville women's swimming program is a CSCAA Scholar All-American team for the spring semester.

The CSCAA presents Team Scholar All American awards to college and university swimming teams who have achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.00 or higher for a semester.

“Our team works hard every semester in the classroom and the pool. It is important to have the students' dedication and commitment to academic work recognized,” head coach Elizabeth Lykins stated.

“It is an honor to be named a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team again. We want to especially thank Rebecca Nelms for her assistance with our student-athletes as they navigate and balance their progress towards graduation while swimming.”

The Bulldogs finished the spring semester with a 3.32 GPA, marking the sixth consecutive semester that Asheville has been honored with Scholar-All-American status.

Asheville finished seventh overall at the CCSA Championships last February, the highest finish to date for the three-year old program. In addition, Lykins added depth to the Bulldogs with the signings of 12 freshmen set to hit the pool this fall.
