Chancellor Grant Helps Open New Track Facilities

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The UNC Asheville athletic department held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday morning during an Open House to unveil the new facilities at the Karl Straus Track.
Athletics Director Janet R. Cone was joined by Chancellor Mary K. Grant, head track coach Jesse Norman and the namesake of the Asheville Track, Karl Straus to celebrate the completion of facilities. The new facilities will bring a timing center, a concession stand and restrooms to the complex.
Coach Norman's track team continues its season Saturday afternoon at Appalachian State with the Big South Conference Championships to be held May 14-16 at High Point University.
